Just spent a few seconds looking at a demo, and didn't see any ports for external devices and didn't notice an internal cam. Did I miss something? If they do not have one at the moment, is there any program to add one in the future?

No the Ipad does not have an internal camera. It also does not have any usb ports or anything like that. Apple may possibly come out with a product later on that permits this by way of their charging port. But I have not seen any plans in the pipeline.
