Can this be used as a deduction?

Question by Brittany D: Can this be utilised as a deduction?
My fiance is a police officer and on his days off he functions at a gun manufacturing and retail retailer. He purchased several guns from the shop, some of which can be used as a backup pistol on duty. He also keeps several of them at the shop to be utilised as demo guns. Can he use these purchases as employee costs? He also uses an iPad strictly for company use at the gun shop (emails, the website, upload and sending merchandise photographs, and so on) and his cell telephone is individual and enterprise use - close to 50/50. Would these go on the 2601? Thanks
Yes, I know he has to itemize, and if he's allowed these he would have sufficient - combined with his other expenses. But I figured he wouldn't be in a position to use them.

Cell phone, no.

iPad you are going to have a Really tough time convincing the IRS it really is only for company use, I wouldn't try it, and even then he would have to be Necessary to have purchased it by his employer.

If the guns he keeps at the store are Necessary to be purchased by him for his job, then they would be deductible. If not Expected, they are not deductible. Identical for the ones that "can be employed as backup on duty". They need to be Necessary.
