i'm acquiring an iPad 2 on monday and im thinking if i really should spend the £35 left over on a smart cover.. or use the £35 for some apps? i dont know if the smart cover is genuinely worth it? would they have a demo in store i could use?

They're positive to have one in the store. If you feel you'd use the intelligent cover then get it. I personally don't feel it is worth that significantly cash, and £35 of apps will go a lengthy way.
