I'm planning to use my christmas cash to get an ipad 2 but i'll feel actually stupid if I just spent 600 dollars and a new 1 comes out in two months.

iPad 3 isn't coming out until next September, which is not for one more 9 or ten months, so if you wanna wait that long then go for it.
